POSITION SUMMARY:

The Distribution Analyst supports the supply chain through data collection, analysis, and efficient inventory positioning. The individual will be a key contributor to support Just-In-Time inventory into our regional distribution center. This role will have key interactions with the logistics, production facilities, foreign and domestic suppliers, and distribution leadership for the organization.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and schedule all inbounds from manufacturing plants to Regional Distribution Center to support customer orders
  • Monitor weekly and daily forecasts to maintain > 95% fill rate and > 98% on time delivery to customer requests
  • Maintain safety stock and system settings to drive correct inventory levels
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce waste
  • Asist in problem solving and design solutions for distribution network
  • Maintain and update internal documentation for internal training and reference
  • Assist in developing and implementing savings and process improvement programs with customers, plants, and forecasting
  • Collect, validate, and analyze data to establish and maintain foundational distribution Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement and business development
  • Evaluate trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory costs, and service levels
  • Inform respective personnel and team in a timely manner of inventory changes, shipment issues, and supply concerns
  • Able to travel up to 10%+
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum Internship experience in a Supply Chain related field
  • Ability to think analytically, creatively, and independently with excellent problem solving skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, advanced level MS Excel user
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement; track record leading and implementing sustainable process improvements, seeking out and implementing internal or external best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 1-3 years of supply chain related professional experience
  • JD Edwards experience a plus
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
