Job Description

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains Applicant Tracking System with candidate dispositions and final close out
  • Pro-active in ensuring a positive candidate/applicant experience, regardless of status or outcome
  • Assists with the full cycle recruiting processes for all level employees. Responsibilities include but not limited to: creating/updating job descriptions, resume reviews, conducting interviews, creating offers and administering post offer background/drug testing processes
  • Onboarding of newly hired employees
  • Working with Corporate office, payroll processing, review and approval
  • Assists in administering employees’ leave of absence requests (FMLA, personal leave, SDI, LTD)
  • Coordinates employee engagement functions and administers the service awards program
  • Assist employees with benefits, policies and all other related questions
  • Processes new hires in the HRIS system, maintains personnel records and administers the timekeeping function in Kronos
  • Participate in safety projects, investigations, corrective actions and be an active member of the safety committee
  • Develop employee relations through individual relationships and counseling management
  • Ensure company is adhering to all Federal and State employment laws
  • Jointly responsible with Plant Manager for safety efforts including safety audits, BrassCraft Safety Management System (SMS), policies and procedures
  • Ensure employees either return to work/ light duty or receive proper care for injuries incurred at work to effectively manage workers' compensation costs
  • Assist in establishing programs and classes to develop employees in advancement goals and teamwork
  • Support Performance Management Program and review evaluations with managers
  • Counsel managers/supervisors on development & discipline issues
  • Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
  • HR administrative and clerical duties
  • Potential for future multi-site support



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, human resources or related field; and minimum of 3 years work experience in Human Resources or 5+ years of progressive working experience in Human Resources, preferably working in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information/records
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and uncertainty.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Manufacturing Safety knowledge and experience
  • Ability to lift 35lbs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP Certificate OR HR Management Certificate
